Experiencia negativa: I am extremely dissatisfied with my prosthontic dental treatment by Dr. Rafael Del Castillo Hernández, in Benidorm and Alicante. After paying over ten thousand Euros, when he finished treatment with me, the crowns he placed on my bottom teeth continued to make my gums bleed, two top teeth remained with cracks. He gave me a night guard for my teeth outrageously expensive (around 500 Euros) that was cumbersome, in which my lip got stuck, and part of it broke off. He blamed me for the problem. There was also the issue of the failed implant for which I never received a full refund, nor did I ever receive accurate billing, in spite of asking for it more than once. I tried repeatedly to get him to rectify things but he always declined and blamed everything on me. After I left his treatment, I shortly thereafter found a new dentist. Dr. Castillo Hernández knew this as he sent my treatment records to the new dentist. The new dentist, Dr. Joel Weinberg, had to drill the bottom crowns off as there was no way to fix the crowns the put in. This was extremely painful. The gum swelling completely stopped. He replaced the bottom crowns also replaced the top crowns, in a timely, kind and competent manner, for a price far less than Dr. Castillo Hernández charged just for the bottom crowns. I now have a nice, small effective (inexpensive) night guard, and beautiful teeth. Throughout Dr. Castillo Hernández treatment, he never took responsibility for anything that went wrong in my treatment, blaming me and my age, habits, genetics, or other unknown factors. When I said I had no problems with prior similar dental treatment, he said it was my aging or genetics, like how he was now balding whereas he wasn’t years ago. He said several other outrageous things such as when I said I did not want to go two hours to his Alicante office again because it was two hours each way by the tram, and that I instead preferred to continue treatment in his Benidorm office time, he replied that I should get a car. When I experienced pain, he and his staff would admonish me with an unkind, “Tranquila”. I never experience this with my new dentist. I had a failed implant which he blamed on me. His sister, who had installed it, struggled to remove it while I experience severe pain with gum swelling. I can provide many more examples of his unprofessional conduct and treatment. I sent him the content of this writing asking for a refund, as well as compensation for the pain, suffering and humiliation at his hands. He did nothing to rectify this “treatment travesty.” My current dentist, (who had worked in London before moving to Spain), was appalled at the work Dr. Castillo-Hernández had done.
